5 DAY HOGSBACK EASTERN CAPE

Day 1: PORT ELIZABETH TO HOGSBACK

Departing from Port Elizabeth we travel north stopping at Nanaga for refreshments. We continue to Grahamstown where we visit the Old Goal for refreshments inside the old rooms that were prison cells. Most delightful venue. Visit the beautiful St George’s Cathedral before leaving this historical town of saints through Fort Beaufort, originally a military fort, and up the pass into the Amatole Mountain range to the beautiful village of Hogsback or Little Austria, as some folks call it. Check in to our accommodation then take a leisurely walk into the village. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 2: HOGSBACK

You start the day with a leisurely breakfast and then spend the morning visiting 39 Steps Waterfall Trail, back for lunch (own account) and after lunch a visit to Starways Pottery. Rest of afternoon at leisure.

Day 3: HOGSBACK

Today we spend the morning at the Mirrors Garden where you can just simply sit quietly under the trees or visit the Fairy Garden. Labyrinths or walk the Circles of Light and visit the Crystal Corner. Lunch in village (own account). In the afternoon visit the Applegarth Nursery. Rest of afternoon at leisure.

Day 4: HOGSBACK

This day we spend the morning at the Chocolate Shop and the Arboretum and after lunch (own account) in the village after which we visit the beautiful and quaint St Patricks Church on the Hill. Rest of afternoon at leisure

Day 5: HOGSBACK TO PORT ELIZABETH

After breakfast we depart from this quiet and restful place in a magnificent mountain range and travel via Adelaide to learn all about the history of this early settlement in the Eastern Cape and on to Bedford where we stop for refreshments. Traveling past Cookhouse with a stop at Nanaga for our lunch (own account). The tour ends again in Port Elizabeth arriving in the middle of the afternoon.
